The other day I met a very strong woman of God.
She is filled with the joy of the Lord, a servant and has rock solid faith.
I asked her: “As a young person who’s on this journey with God what would you say is important to remember always?”
She said as she has aged she can’t really see the words in her Bible and the stories are not the clearest in her mind.
She said, “but I never forgot Joshua 1:9”
She said “God is with me here in Los Pinos and He is with you where ever you go.”
do not be Terrified
do not be discouraged
For the LORD your God
will be with you wherever you go.
Earlier that day I was taken on a hike up a mountain to a place to pray. When we got there I stood looking at this amazing view. Tegucigalpa right in front of me and Los Pinos to my right and all the way around to my left.
I stood in awe of the size of that city we drive through daily
and was taken aback by the outstretch of Los Pinos… the settlement we were about to dive into
What that Lady said hit hard.
Because earlier when I looked at it all I was not strong or courageous. I was scared and discouraged. I felt like trying to make a difference in Los Pinos was a waste of time. There were so many homes, so many places I knew I would never have the time to get to. How could this be!?
As my team gathered we prayed for Honduras. We prayed that God’s presence would move even more than it already was. We told God we would not let Satan discourage us and said ever how with every house we went to we wanted to bring joy and peace. We asked for His strength, for directions with our steps and protection.
The past two weeks we have been visiting Los Pinos…
The Holy Spirit is moving there… more than I could describe in this blog.
When we visited homes we talked, hung out, prayed and sometimes even sang worship songs.
Satan worked hard to stop this…
We cried, we yelled, we even through rocks…
but God is faithful, God filled us and reminded us Los Pinos is in His hands.
Satan booked it out of some of those houses…
We saw it every day we returned…
houses literally brightened…
Hearts were healed…
joy flooded each home
hope stirred in their hearts
hope filled our hearts too!
I thank God for because He is unchanging, I thank God that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in me… and works through me.
Joshua 1:9
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
